Marination for fish fry
Usually, i use chili powder, salt and lemon juice for fish marination. About a year ago, i saw a Pinterest post about the malabar style masala for marinating the fish. It seemed interesting and delicious so gave it a try and it turned out fantabulous.
Ever since i have been using this marinade for different types of fish like salmon, tilapia and so on and it tastes so good with every type of fish. Hence give it a try if this marination sounds new to you and i'm sure that you would love this flavor and taste.

Indian Style Golden Pompano Fish Fry

Ingredients
Golden Pompano - 1 lb
Coconut oil - 2 to 3 tbsp
For marination
Pearl onion - 4
Garlic - 4
Ginger - 1/2 inch piece
Peppercorns - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seed - 1/4 tsp
Fennel seed - 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
Red chili powder - 1/2 tsp
Lemon juice - 1 tbsp
Salt - to taste

Peel the onion, garlic and ginger. Roughly chop the ginger. Squeeze the lemon juice and keep it ready. Put all the ingredients listed under "For marination" in a mixie jar and grind into smooth paste.
Clean the fish and keep it ready. Add the grounded masala to the fish and coat the fish well with the masala. Marinate the fish for 40-60 mins.
Next heat the coconut oil in a frying pan and then add the marinated fish and cook it on both sides in medium flame until it turns golden brown.
Yummy Golden Pompano Fish Fry is ready. Serve it with some onion and lemon wedges.
