Ven Pongal | Khara Pongal | Breakfast recipe

Ven Pogal, a famous south indian breakfast. It's quite fulfilling and have a small amount is enough for the whole morning.During our initial marriage days, hubby always avoid pongal for breakfast on working days and when i asked, he said it would make him so sleepy.I was puzzled ,why?. Later i heard the same statement from many people, but i never felt that way after having pongal. Though i'm not big fan of pongal, occasionally i can have it without any complaints.Since it's a no garlic and no onion recipe, you can serve this as offering on this Navarathri season too.
Ps: If you know Tamil, watch this episode of Ramany vs Ramany, my favorite serial, the whole episode is about pongal & sleep :-) . Samuthirakani did a cameo role in this episode.
