Procedure
Preheat the oven at 400F
In a large bowl, add the butter(it should be at room temperature) and whisk until it softens, then add the sugar and beat it together with the whisk. Then crack open the egg and add into butter&sugar mixture.Add the vanilla essence and whisk until all cream together. Then take the flour, cornmeal & salt and swift all into wet ingredients. Now  change to spatula and mix it together until it looks like a dough.Divide the dough into equal parts and roll into balls and place it in parchment lined cookie sheets. With the help of flat bottom like bowl or glass, press each cookie dough and flatten into round cookies. Now take your heat shape cookie cutter and mark it on each cookies(don't cut it through).
Do the same for the other batch too. Place the cookie trays in the oven and bake it for 8-10 mins.Once it's done, you can see the edges becomes brown,at this stage, remove from the oven.Let it cool completely on cooling rack. Now add all the ingredients listed under "For sugar glaze" in a bowl and mix it together. The glaze should be in pourable consistency as shown below. Now take a little amount of glaze and place it on the center of the cookie. Now take clean spoon, with back of the spoon, spread the glaze gently inside the heart shape.Do the same for all the cookies and keep it aside for one hour or until the glaze becomes dry.Once it's completely dry, store it in air tight container.
Notes:
  • For eggless version, instead of egg, add 2 to 3 tbsp of milk along with 1/2 tsp of baking powder.
  • As i don't have food pink color, i used beetroot juice for pink color.
  • To make the process easier, you can use stand mixer or electric beater too.
  • It stays well up to 10 days in room temperature.
  • Instead of using spoon, you can fill the pastry bag/zip lock bag with glaze and use it.
