Mixture Poriyal(Mixed Vegetable Curry)


This side dish contains cabbage,beans,carrot & peas,so it got this name .Here's the recipe


Ingredients

Cabbage - 100gms
Carrot - 1(medium size)
Beans - 8 nos
Peas - handful
Moog Dal - 1 tbl spn
Grated Coconut - 3-4 tbl spn
Mustard & urad Dal - 1/2 tspn
Coconut Oil - 2 tbl spn
Curry Leaves
Salt

To grind

Green chillies - 3 nos
Cumin seed - 1/2 tspn
Garlic - 1 flakes
Pearl onion - 2nos(you can use normal onion also).

Procedure

Soak the moog  dal for 1/2 hour.Cut cabbage,beans & carrot finely

Grind the items listed under 'To grind' coarsely

In a pan add some water & moog dal and cook till dal is half cooked.Now add cabbage, carrot,beans & water(if required) and cover with lid

Once the vegetables are half cooked,add the peas(I used frozen one,otherwise add along with other vegetables ) , grind mixture & salt.

Add the grated coconut once everything is cooked.If there is excess water remove before adding grind mixture.

In a another pan, add coconut oil and mustard .once mustard crackles add urad dal and curry leaves

Pour this seasoning into the vegetables.

Now mixture poriyal is ready to serve..
