Veg Fried Rice | Restaurant Style Fried Rice | Rice Recipe

Vegetable fried rice, an easy & quick to prepare indo chinese dishes that are all available from star restaurants to road side shops in India. If you have been reading my blog regularly, you might know that we are kind of people who likes typical south indian meal for lunch rather than this kind of rice. But occasionally i would make them, paired with some manchurian, every time while i'm trying, i adjust the ingredients more or less to replicate the restaurant style fried rice. After many trials, this recipe becomes a keeper for a while. It tastes almost like restaurant ones and it doesn't have that dominating soy flavor(which i dont like),it's so mild yet very tasty.

Veg Fried Rice

Preparation Time : 10 mins | Cooking Time : 20 minsServes :
Recipe Category: Rice | Recipe Cuisine: Indo-Chinese
Ingredients
Cooked Basmati Rice - 3 cups
Mixed Veggies - 1 cup(capsicum,cabbage,carrot)
Garlic - 2 tsp(finely minced)
Green onions - 3
Green Chili - 2
Sesame Oil - 1 tbsp
Soy Sauce - 1 tsp
Pepper powder - 2 tsp
Salt to taste

Procedure
First cook the basmati rice and let it cool completely. In the mean time, chop all the veggies(capsicum, cabbage & carrot) into thin strips, finely minced the garlic & then chop the white part of the green onions and keep it ready.Heat the kadai with oil and then add the garlic.Saute the garlic till it becomes fragrant and then add the onions & green chili, saute it for 2 mins. Then add all the veggies and saute till the veggies are cooked.Add soy sauce, pepper powder and salt into veggies and give a good mix.Add the rice and gently mix it with the veggies. Finally add the green parts of the green onions and switch off the flame.
Tasty & restaurant style Veg Fried Rice is ready.
Notes:
  • I have already added salt while cooking the rice, so while sauteing, just add salt for the veggies alone.
  • Saute the veggies in high flame to get that smoky flavor.
  • As we want little extra spice, i added green chili, but you can skip that.
  • Adjust the soy sauce as per your liking of that sauce. The amount i mentioned here gives mild flavor of soy sauce.
  • Use Sesame oil for great flavor.
  • The veggies should be crunchy,so don't cook till it becomes soft.
  • I personally dont like the crunchy beans, so i skip it,but if you would like ,add some.
