Onion Pakoda is one of the easiest snack that you can make within 15 mins. For the past few days, it has been raining here in the evening which make us crave for some hot snack along with tea. So i was just waiting for weekend to try this.
Today when i started to make this pakoda, it had been raining heavily for around one hour. Due to that, there was no power & the daylight also reduced,i found it difficult to take the photos, somehow i managed to take few decent photos.
There is no need to wait for rain to try this. It's delicious with hot cup of tea/coffee,so try it and enjoy with your family today.
Ingredients
Gram Flour - 2/3 cup
Onion - 2 small size
Turmeric Powder - 1/8 tsp
Chili Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt - to taste (1/4 tsp approx)
Water - 2 to 3 tbsp
Oil for frying
Procedure
Slice the onions roughly . In a bowl, add the gram flour, turmeric & chili powder and salt . Mix it well.
Then add onions into gram flour and mix well. The water in the onions helps to bind the flour together and you may need few tbsp of water.
I added around 2 tbsp of water to bind the flour as shown in the below picture.
Heat the oil in a kadai, take small portion of mixture and drop it in oil. No need to make any regular shape. Just pinch the mixture & drop it in oil.
Keep the flame in medium.Flip the pakodas in between to cook both sides evenly.Cook until it become crispy and drain it on tissue paper.
Serve it wit hot coffee /tea.

Note:
- Cook it in medium flame, it helps to caramalize the onions & give the slight sweet taste to the pakoda.
- For extra crisp, you can add 1 tbsp of rice flour along with gram flour.
- If you wish, you can green chili & curry leaves too.
