Pasta With Tomato & Basil | Italian Pasta recipe| Penne Pasta recipe

Last month, i was hardly at home, we were travelling a lot. so i was afraid that i couldn't post this month BM, but somehow i managed to cook three italian recipe and i'm glad that i took this month challenge,otherwise i couldn't push myself to do it.

So here is the  first recipe under Italian dinner recipe. Pasta is a staple food of italian cuisine. When i searched for italian recipe, i found that pasta with tomato & basil is a popular combo, so i tried this recipe and it tastes wonderful. Within 10 days, i made it twice and we love it to the core.

Ok, now let see the procedure.


Pasta with tomato and Basil

Ingredients

Penne Pasta - 1 1/4 cup
Tomato - 2 nos.
Onion - 1 (small)
Bell pepper - 1/2
Garlic - 1 tsp (finely chopped)
Basil - 1/2 tsp
Oregano - 1/4 tsp
Chili flakes - 1/4 tsp
Mozzarella cheese - 1/4 cup(grated)
Olive oil - 1 tsp




Procedure

First cook the pasta as per the packet instruction(Bring water to boil & add pasta ,cook for 8-10 approx) along with little salt & few drops of oil. In the mean time, cut onions & bell pepper into thin slices and grind the tomatoes into fine paste.



Once the pasta is cooked , drain the water and keep it aside .

 Now heat oil in the skillet , add garlic & saute it for 1 min and then add onions & bell peppers  and saute it for 2 mins 


Next add tomato paste and all the spices (basil,oregano & chili flakes) & mix well.


Now add salt & cook till it become thick and then add cooked pasta.


Mix pasta with tomato sauce well and then finally add cheese & give quick stir . Switch off the flame and serve hot.


Sprinkle some cheese on top while serving.


Notes:

  • Even you can add pizza sauce instead of tomato paste too.
  • You can adjust the amount of cheese according to your preference.
  • You can use any type of pasta
