Today's recipe is easy to make chicken kuzhambu. It's one of the basic chicken curry that you can prepare under 30 mins and it goes well with rice or with idli, dosa, idiappam, appam & chapathi.
When i was in chennai, i stayed at hostel, but my brother rented a house and stay nearby his office. At that time, Appa also used to travel a lot because of his work and often visit chennai. If his visit would be on week end, both Appa and me would like to spend the weekend at my brother's place and mostly he would take care of saturday's lunch and it would be usually this chicken kulambu, rasam, omelette and rice and on sunday, we normally eat outside, those were the days i knew nothing about cooking.
After marriage, when i had started to cook, i was bit hesitant to try nonveg recipes, then by slowly i had started to cook one by one, mutton, fish & chicken. Without much effort, easily i was able to cook mutton & fish without any raw flavor in the gravy, but when it comes to chicken, i don't know what went wrong, but every time, i had that raw aroma in the gravy. When i mentioned this to my brother, he suggests few tips to  make delicious chicken gravy.First thing is you have to add good amount of ginger garlic paste and also freshly made gives wonderful flavor. Second thing is when you wash the chicken, add turmeric powder at the end and rub it in chicken well, then rinse it only once.Don't rinse more than once after adding the turmeric powder. The turmeric powder prevents the raw smell of the chicken. Yep,that's the secret to get delicious chicken curry without any raw flavor. Now let's move on to the recipe.

Notes:
  •  Pearl onion and gingelly oil gives great taste to the kulambu, highly recommend to use this.
  • If you want more thicker gravy, soak 1 tsp of poppy seed for 30 mins and grind it along with coconut and add it in kulambu
  • If you wish, add a tsp of garam masala at the end for extra flavor.
  • I have used drumstick chicken here, but you can any chicken.
